Hi friends,

I’ve been away for awhile, but just got a few actions and readings worth mentioning.

From Action Group Network: “As you may have heard, yesterday a team of independent attorneys presented an Electoral Vote Objection to Congressional members, which provides legal evidence that at least 50 votes are “not regularly given” or “not lawfully certified.”

The vote count happens tomorrow. If 37 of these electoral votes are invalidated, then Congress will be allowed to elect a new President from the top three electoral vote recipients.

Call your Senators and ask them to object to the invalid electors

More Details:
Congress created a mechanism for ensuring that all of the electoral votes were cast in accordance with state law, as required by the Constitution.

When Congress counts the electoral votes, in a joint session tomorrow, presided over by Vice President Joe Biden, who also serves as the President of the Senate, members of Congress have the chance to object to certain electoral votes. If both the House and the Senate agree, those votes can be invalidated.

Each objection must be joined by at least one Senator and one Representative. The joint session is then suspended while the Senate and the House each vote on whether to uphold the objection.

If they can reduce Trump’s electoral votes to 269, then Congress must vote on a new President. Each state gets one vote to choose among the top three electoral vote recipients. There must be a majority of 26 votes to elect the new President.”

Another petition: Tell your congresspeople to skip the inauguration.
